The French rider has undergone surgery last week and is on the road to recovery.

Involved in a road accident on March 15th, Sylvain Barrier is currently still hospitalised in Lyon. Last week he underwent a successful maxillofacial surgery.

His family has confirmed that he was recovering quickly and he could make his return to the WSBK paddock for the Dutch Round, scheduled for April 25-27 at Assen.

The two time and reigning STK1000 Champion was going to make his WSBK debut as full time rider in EVO class earlier this year with the BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team, but he sat out the event after suffering a pelvis injury in a crash during the official pre-season test at Phillip Island.
